Watching on your TV
Streaming from a computer to TV
If you are using an Apple TV (and Mac), you must use Safari. Once in the YouTube viewer, click on the AirPlay button (next to the full screen button) and select your Apple TV.
If you are using a Google Cast enabled TV or TV box, you must use Google Chrome. Once in the YouTube viewer, click on the Play on TV button (next to the full screen button) and select your TV.
Streaming directly on a TV
On any smart TV or smart TV box that has the YouTube app installed, you can search for “Sebastian Berofsky senior recital” and click on the first result.
Plugging a computer into a TV (more detailed instructions here)
If your computer has an HDMI port, plug an HDMI cable from the HDMI port on the computer to a free HDMI port on your TV. Select the corresponding input on your TV.
If your computer does not have an HDMI port, use an adapter (the most common type is a USB-C to HDMI adapter) and plug the HDMI cable into the adapter and into a free HDMI port on your TV. Select the corresponding input on your TV.
Make sure to select the sound output to be your TV’s speakers. On a Mac, open System Preferences and select Sound. Go to Output at the top and select your TV’s speakers. On a PC, go to your sound settings and select your TV’s speakers as the output.
Watching in 4K
To set the resolution to 4K, click on the Settings button (to the left of the Miniplayer (i) button), click Quality, then select 2160p.
Note: if your computer is buffering or dropping frames while in 4K, try watching in 1440p or 1080p.
Using the Chat
To the right of the video (when not in full screen), you can use the chat to type messages before, during, or after the performance. Click on Say something… and type your message. To open the chat in a new window, click on the 3 dots in the top right corner of the chat box and select Popout chat.
To use the chat, you must have a Google account with a YouTube channel. It will prompt you to sign in at the bottom of the chat box.
